Break into a car! It's OK if…..

I am blessed to have nearly 10 grandchildren (latest one to arrive the end of September!). So, when I hear about children left in cars in the summer and there are deaths, I pay attention. I can understand how absent minded-too many things on a parents’ minds can cause this to happen but I still think there is NO excuse for leaving your child in a hot car or leave your child in a car alone period! I don’t find anyone who disagrees with me!
Tennessee is at the fore-front with a new law that states …. If you see a child left in a locked car and they are in danger, call 911 first and if you have to, you can break a window, damage a door or do whatever has to be done to get that child to safety. Good for you Tennessee lawmakers! I applaud you! Personally, I would do that anyway and I wouldn’t fear consequences if I was in that situation of seeing a helpless child needing to be freed!
There is national attention being paid to this. The Today Show on NBC had a discussion on it yesterday and you can watch the video below. You can also read the full website article which was the basis for their discussion! It’s a good read and a good reminder that this problem has no place in our world!

“Last year, 44 children in the U.S. died of heatstroke in cars..That grim tally has reached 16 so far this year..” Click Here To Read Article
