You may have heard a sad story like this before.  Hopefully, you have never experienced this with your insurance agent or agency.  Certainly, anyone who has worked with me and this agency during my nearly 41 year career has never experienced this!

You trust someone to handle your insurance!  You sign a contract (hopefully) and you pay a premium.  You get a confirmed and issued policy in return.  If you pay your premium and keep your commitment to the policy requirements, that policy should pay for any losses that you have paid for in that issued policy. 

If you have followed this story on News Channel 5 in Nashville, you know where I’m going with this.  Unfortunately, if all of this is proven true in the courts, the Universal Insurance Agency in Murfreesboro has cast a light on our business that is a complete embarrassment to me and my fellow hard working and honest insurance agents anywhere.

I find this story incredibly hard to watch or understand!  How does this happen – from the consumer side or the insurance agency side?  When I was licensed in 1978 to offer insurance, upon graduation from the course work, I made a commitment to serve – you – the public with the highest level of integrity and honesty.  I have attempted in every facet of this career to uphold those tenets of quality and those around me have as well.  This story and others like it are a sad commentary in our country. 

It is a comfort for me to know that when anyone puts their trust in Benton White Insurance, we will ALWAYS serve that person with the safety and security they deserve and expect!  We serve the public and remember daily in our practice that we will ALWAYS treat others as we would want to be treated.  That has worked so far and it won’t change!

Thanks for letting me hop on my soapbox for a moment.  Integrity and honesty is major in my work and life.  I’m so sorry – again – if all of this is proven true – that this agency possibly strayed away from that in dealing with the public.
