Have you heard of QLE? This is what you need to know..

As a result of the Affordable Care Act (ACA or ObamaCare), an acronym that has been around for a while has escalated in popularity especially lately! Have you heard of QLE? Qualifying Life Event is now a major barrier or door opener in the world of individual medical insurance. Before ACA, one could apply for medical insurance coverage anytime they had the need. There was no enrollment period, no QLE and the variety of plans at affordable prices were available just about anywhere insurance was sold! This year going forward – it’s all different! We are all now getting acquainted with an enrollment period in order to apply for medical insurance. If you don’t enroll during that time segment (this year from November 15, 2014 to February 15, 2015), you are required to have a QLE in order to enroll. So what are the Qualifying Life Events that will permit you to enroll outside of the open enrollment period? Here is the latest released list!
