Brentwood High School Gets It. Texting & Driving Don't Mix!

We have all heard a lot about texting while driving. We are hearing so much these days from those who encourage us all not to do it! Here are some of the reasons why.

The statistics are staggering!

In mid-December, I was passing by Brentwood High School on my way to work. I saw the following and turned around because I didn’t want to miss it. DECA (Distributive Education Club of America) – a club on that local campus – presented the following posters in view of ALL arriving students as they approach the school each morning.

DECA says: “BE IN THE ZONE .. TURN OFF YOUR PHONE … DON’T TEXT AND DRIVE!” That is AWESOME DECA at Brentwood! What an example you are setting for your fellow students.

Statistics explain the risk! Brentwood High School students see the risk and their DECA group is getting the message out there to their peers. Here at the insurance agency, we are already seeing some claims that come from texting and driving. We strongly urge you to put your phone away while driving to preserve your safety and the safety of others. As the statistics show, a 5 second look at your phone to text or do anything else while driving could change your life or end it!
