You probably read or heard that there was an earthquake in the Knoxville area Saturday morning (May 9, 08:04 AM CST). This one measured 4.1 on the seismograph scale. Fortunately, there were no reports of life or property loss.
This is a simple – BE AWARE EMAIL!!! You most likely have NO COVERAGE for earthquake if your insurance policy doesn’t show a line item stating the coverage. If you notice earthquake protection on your policy, that will mean you requested EARTHQUAKE insurance and paid an extra premium for that coverage.
Many folks think that the property insurance policy they have includes that coverage. IT DOES NOT. You would need to request it so that we can add it on your behalf. Premiums average between $500-$700 more per year with higher deductibles when you add the earthquake endorsement.
Please let us know if we can help you with that coverage included on your policy by TEXTING (615.377.1212), CALLING (615.377.1212) or EMAILING (info@BentonWhite.com) us. We’re here to help.
Thanks for your business, and excuse this brief interruption in your day. We always want to make sure that you understand what you are paying for. I hope this helps you to better know your property insurance policy with us.
